Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2024
The Mercer University Libraries commemorates Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 15. Martin Luther King, Jr., and other civil rights activists, were dedicated to the fight for freedom and equality. Check out the film, books, and web resources below about Dr. King, and visit the table displays at the Douglas and Henry Regional Academic Centers and the Swilley Library. Lastly, be sure to watch last year’s interview with Rev. Dr. Thomas Slater, professor emeritus in the McAfee School of Theology, who discussed Dr. King’s speeches and sermons. This video will also be streamed in the Swilley Library.
Film Spotlight
MLK/FBI is a documentary that accounts the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) excessive and unwarranted surveillance of Dr. King. It’s available to stream on Kanopy, which is accessible through the Mercer University Libraries.
