2-sentence horror story contest

2-Sentence Horror Story Contest

We are excited to host the first annual “2-Sentence Horror Story” competition for all Mercer students, faculty, and staff! This contest begins Wednesday, October 18, 2023 and stories must be submitted online by Friday, October 27, 2023. Horror stories may be about any terrifying topic or spooky subject, but must be original and two sentences only (400 characters or less).

A blind review (with identifying information removed) will be conducted by library staff to determine (3) winners, who will receive bragging rights and a spooky themed gift basket! Winners will be announced, Tuesday, October 31, 2023

Contest Rules:

  • Participants must be affiliated with Mercer University (MUID & email required on form).
  • Entries must be submitted online by Friday, October 27 at 11:59pm.
  • Winners will be announced Tuesday, October 31, 2023 on Mercer University Libraries social media. Winners will also be contacted via email.
  • Participants may submit multiple entries, but only one can win a prize.
  • Stories that do not follow the 2-sentence rule will be disqualified.
  • Submissions that violate privacy, promote violence, or suggest illegal activity will be disqualified.
