International Education Week 2022
International Education Week (IEW) is November 14 through November 18. According to the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, IEW is “an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide,” and the goal is to “promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.” During IEW, Mercer University Libraries will celebrate International Day on Wednesday, November 16 this year. We are so glad to support our international students.
In collaboration with Katie Lloyd, Assistant Director of Global Services, check out the YouTube video to learn about IEW and International Day. This video is streaming at the Swilley Library in Atlanta and at the Douglas and Henry Academic Centers on the information screens.
Visit the table displays at the Atlanta, Douglas, and Henry locations, and review the answer key for the Guess the Flags activity to see if you guessed correctly. There are also events on the Atlanta and Macon campus to celebrate International Day. The event in Atlanta will be in the Pharmacy breezeway (next to Duvall Hall and the cafeteria) from 4pm-6pm and will move to the Sheffield Gym in case of bad weather. In Macon, there will be pop-up tables throughout the day.
