Lactation Room Policy
The Mercer University Libraries provides lactation rooms at both Swilley and Tarver Libraries. The rooms provide a private space for feeding infants or expressing milk. The rooms are available to Mercer faculty, staff, and students and are available when the Library is open.
- These rooms are not intended for:
- Use as a lounge, study room, or meeting room
- Organized group activities or meetings
- Socializing or work break times
- Storage
- The rooms are to be used on a first-come, first-served basis during regular library hours.
- It is the responsibility of everyone using the lactation rooms to clean up after themselves.
- Personal items should not be left in the rooms. Individuals using the space are responsible for personal accessories.
- Time restriction – 60 minutes maximum.
- The Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Access
- Available on a first-come, first served basis.
- Door remains locked at all times. To access the room, please check out the key at the Circulation Desk.

- No visibility into or out of the space.
- Comfortable chair and small table.
- Outlet.
- Restrooms and sinks are located on the same floor as the lactation room.
