Honor with Books Program

The Honor with Books Program provides a meaningful way for you to pay lasting tribute to a special person in your life while making an important contribution to future generations of Mercer University students and faculty.

Gifts to Honor with Books are directed to a special fund that provides critical support for the acquisition of new books, which helps maintain Mercer’s excellence in teaching and research.

Remember and Celebrate People and Events

In recognition of each gift made to the Honor with Books fund, a personalized bookplate is placed in a newly purchased book in the subject area of the donor’s choosing.

  • A letter of acknowledgment and a copy of the bookplate will be sent to both you and your honoree.
  • Your name will be listed alongside other Library and University donors in annual giving reports.
  • You will receive information and updates about Library events and notable acquisitions.

$100 places a bookplate in one newly purchased book.

$500 places bookplates in six newly purchased books.

$1,000 places bookplates in 15 newly purchased books and qualifies you for the University’s President’s Club.

Books Forever Program

For those who wish to endow a fund, a minimum gift of $15,000, which can be paid over a multi-year period, establishes a named endowment. Bookplates in the donor’s name, or in the name of a person of the donor’s choosing, will be placed in books that are acquired with those funds, and the collection will grow in perpetuity.
