24-Hour Study Floor Policy (Tarver)
The first floor of Tarver Library is open 24 hours a day for students who have Bear Card access.
- Students will be considerate of this shared space.
- Respect everyone’s right to study in this environment.
- The noise level on this floor should be conversational. There should be no shouting, screaming, or playing music that others might find disruptive.
- Study groups should not hoard tables, outlets, or whiteboards.
- Students will respect library resources.
- Treat furniture, outlets, and other equipment with care.
- Do not deface property. Write only on whiteboard surfaces, not on furniture or walls.
- Students will adhere to library and university policy.
- Follow all posted policies, rules, and guidelines. This includes student conduct standards, tobacco rules, and motorized transportation bans.
- Report any suspicious behavior to campus security or library staff immediately.
- Respect library staff. If a request is made, follow through in a timely and respectful manner.
Non-compliance to these expectations may result in removal from the floor, loss of library privileges, or further disciplinary action. Additionally, if continued patterns of violations occur from student groups, the library maintains the right to close the 24-hour floor to all students.
