Scope and Contents The Louie D. Newton Papers consists of the personal papers of Louie Devotie Newton with materials dated 1879-1986. There are 29 boxes in total. The papers include correspondence, clippings, printed material, photographs, ephemera, audio visial materials, and a scrapbook (1939) of clippings pertaining to the Baptist World Alliance. The Walter B. Shurden Papers contains 10 boxes of materials. They consist of biographical sketches, copies of speeches and articles written by Shurden, papers related to Baptist organizations with which Shurden was involved, letters of recommendation, and correspondence. Original folder names and organization have been retained where possible.
