The C. DeWitt Matthews Collection contains biographical material, articles, lectures, addresses, studies, literatures, and materials related to his time in the ministry.

Scope and Contents The Duncan Family Collection is divided into 5 series. Series 1 contains materials from Pope Alexander Duncan Sr., while Series 2-5 contain materials from Pope Alexander Duncan Jr. As a general rule, Duncan Sr.'s (d. 1938) sermon notes (Series 1) extended to no more than two handwritten half-sheets of paper or one typed half-sheet paper. The James Edgar Dillard, Jr., Collection contains class notes, sermon notes, and other writings during Rev. Dillard’s lengthy career. Box 2 contains various pamphlets, handwritten sermon notes, and miscellaneous materials from Rev. Dillard.

The James H. Kilpatrick Collection contains a scrapbook. This was apparently given to his son, William Heard Kilpatrick, upon his death in 1908. Inside are clippings, mostly from The Christian Index, but there are also clippings from the Texas Baptist Herald. There is a barely legible index of these clippings on the inside of the front and back covers. Topics var clippings and include church government, missions, temperance, and both amusing and moralistic anecdotes.

The Jimmy B. Lewis Collection contains papers from Rev. Lewis’ time with the National Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

The John Green Harrison Collection is comprised of notes from Harrison’s time as a student and faculty member. Series 1 consists of his notes from his time at the University of Berlin. Series 2 consists of boxes 3-9. Boxes 3-9 contain notebooks from while Mr. Harrison was at Mercer. Most of the notebooks are in poor condition. The covers are about to fall off, and the writing is illegible due to smudging.

The John R. Gunn Collection consists of mainly photocopies of Rev. Gunn’s life. This includes articles about and by him, book reviews, correspondence, sermons, and photographs. The majority of Rev. Gunn’s original works are located in the John R. Gunn Collection in The Burke Library Archives at Columbia University Union Theological Seminary in New York City, New York.

Scope and Contents This collection contains Kerr Boyce Tupper’s diaries, personal sermon notes/readings, and ministerial records, 1872-1904; class notes at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1872-1875; lectures and addresses in 1882-1895. Also included in the collection are the church membership lists of First Baptist Church, Paducah, Kentucky, 1877-1880; Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois, 1880-1881; and First Baptist Church, Marquette, Michigan, 1881.
