The collection contains mostly correspondence from the 1943-48 Summer Workshops at Mercer, including letters, budget and expense statements, handwritten notes, lists of attendees, receipts, and workshop summaries and descriptions of purpose.

The Bridges Smith collection includes 117 illustrated envelopes postmarked between 1894 and 1917 and mailed by family, business associates, and friends. A small amount of correspondence dates into the early 1920s and is a mixture of business and pleasure in subject matter. Smith was related to Miss Sallie Boone, Mercer Librarian (1904-1934) and Librarian Emeritus (1934-1951).

The Tippett Papers are divided into six sections, which were removed from a notebook. All relate to Southern Baptist church organizations and activities. Materials are primarily related to Sunday School and Training Union in the late 1950s and early 1960s and include materials for teachers, lesson outlines, attendance contests, and information on enlargement campaigns.

Scope and Contents The Carter and Agnes Morgan Collection contain materials documenting their missionary life over the course of the twentieth century. They contain a transcript of Edgar L. Morgan’s (Carter’s father) journal chronicling his work in China from 1905-1927; Post Scripts, newsletters written by Carter as he and Agnes served as missionaries in Hawaii, Hong Kong, and the Philippines from 1948-1996; and biographical materials and a diary from Silas Emmet Stephens, Carter’s uncle and a missionary to...

Scope and Contents The Edgar L. Morgan Papers contain five spiral-bound books of transcripts from Dr. Morgan’s sketches of missionary life in China (originally published in the Owenton, Kentucky, News-Herald); a letter by Carter Morgan describing the collection; and memorials for Edgar L. and Lelah Carter Morgan written by Carter (their son).
