Archibald John Battle Papers
The Archibald Battle Papers contains two letters regarding Battle (1871 and 1879); a volume of Battle lecture notes taken by William S. West (1879-1880); and a notebook of miscellaneous notes (undated) with loose notes and scrap paper bearing West’s name inserted. The volume of lecture notes has significantly deteriorated. The collection was possibly given by Dr. Spencer B. King.
Arthur L. Rich Papers
This collection contains Arthur Rich’s Music Department scrapbooks. It also holds some sheet music, one written in Italian.
Augustus Octavius Bacon Papers
The A. O. Bacon Papers contains one letter (1864) and three diaries (1853, 1861, and 1868). The collection may have been received through Dr. Spencer King.
Bartow Davis Ragsdale Papers
Box 1 contains correspondence, account papers, and Bursar records. Box 2 contains speeches, sermons, and other materials related to his work in the Baptist denomination. Box 3 contains copper plate lithographs used in the printing of The Story of Georgia Baptists.
Benjamin Osgood Peirce Papers
The collection contains mostly letters between Peirce, his wife, and his parents (1812-83) while he was at Penfield. The letters discuss personal, family, and school matters. Most of these items are photocopies.
Bridges Smith Papers
The Bridges Smith collection includes 117 illustrated envelopes postmarked between 1894 and 1917 and mailed by family, business associates, and friends. A small amount of correspondence dates into the early 1920s and is a mixture of business and pleasure in subject matter. Smith was related to Miss Sallie Boone, Mercer Librarian (1904-1934) and Librarian Emeritus (1934-1951).

The Richardson collection contains three notebooks of class/lecture notes. One is dated 1903 and the other two are undated.
C. DeWitt Matthews Papers
The C. DeWitt Matthews Collection contains biographical material, articles, lectures, addresses, studies, literatures, and materials related to his time in the ministry.

The Caroline Paul King Papers contain materials related to Mrs. King’s career as a musician and music teacher (1928-1970), including programs, correspondence, news clippings, photographs, certificates, and adjudicators’ comment sheets from competitions and festivals. There is also a folder of newspaper clippings and programs relating to Mrs. King’s family, 1950-1998.
