This fragile scrapbook contains numerous items in no particular order: printed minutes of an organization, articles by CDM clipped from the Christian Index and Southern Baptist Missionary Journal, handwritten manuscripts on various topics (including sermons or exegetical essays), an associational circular letter, financial records, much poetry, and at least two printed pamphlets.

The Mallary Scrapbook Collection consists of about 25 unbound pages of clippings related to the Mallary family, five photographs of paintings by Jeanie Dagg (Mrs. Rollin Daniel) Mallary, one Christmas card containing on the cover a photograph of a painting by Mrs. Mallary, and one photograph of Charles Dutton Mallary.

Scope and Contents The Otto Papers contains one binder entitled “The Case of Dr. Francis Robert Otto,” and a notation inside reading, “This copy by hand from Dr. Otto, September 25, 1990.” The binder is organized into sections, all of which deal with a controversial chapel sermon delivered by Dr. Otto (Dean of the Chapel) in 1967. This collection includes personal files from Smith, files from the churches he pastored, and miscellaneous files. The miscellaneous files include a variety of topics, including evangelism, marriage, and writings by different artists.

The Archibald Battle Papers contains two letters regarding Battle (1871 and 1879); a volume of Battle lecture notes taken by William S. West (1879-1880); and a notebook of miscellaneous notes (undated) with loose notes and scrap paper bearing West’s name inserted. The volume of lecture notes has significantly deteriorated. The collection was possibly given by Dr. Spencer B. King.

The Harold L. Sangster Collection contains correspondence, personal research, bulletins, diplomas, and sermons from Rev. Sangster’s career. Most of his original files have been maintained. The Personal Series has been arranged alphabetically. The Sermons Series has been subdivided roughly by date preached, special event, topic, and miscellaneous. Miscellaneous sermons were often not filed or in any particular order.

The Mary R. Wilder papers consist of four general topics: her correspondence, her writings, newspaper articles about her, and a file with materials on her family and personal accomplishments. The collection also includes a number of oversized artifacts. The archives received these items in multiple accessions and arranged them accordingly; therefore, one may find similar items across multiple accessions.
