Scope and Contents

The Albert Henry Newman Collection contains correspondence to and from Newman, a prominent Baptist Church Historian, from 1926 to 1933; correspondence between Spencer B. King, Jr. and Frederick Eby (1956) pertaining to a biographical sketch of Newman for the Encyclopedia of Southern Baptists; Newman’s lecture notes on church history; and the book A Manual of Church History by T. J. Morgan (1880).

The Henry J. Durham Collection contains personal papers, sermon notes, and study notes from Henry J. Durham’s career. They are order of Books of the Bible.

Scope and Contents The Ivy Walker Duggan Papers contains four volumes covering the time period of 1828-1869: two volumes of printed Baptist Association minutes, one volume of printed letters from Duggan at battle fronts (1861-1865), and one journal by George R. The Oversize Papers Collection contains large materials that were separated from personal papers collections and university records for better storage and preservation. The bulk of the collection is diplomas from institutions other than Mercer, but there are also certificates, decrees/proclamations, and professional licenses. The documents are arranged alphabetically by recipient.

Scope and Contents The Rufus Washington Weaver Collection contains reports, correspondence, and other university-related documents from his time at Mercer University. The folders of the Weaver Papers are not in alphabetical order throughout the collection as a whole, but rather are generally alphabetized in groups of folders.
