James Picket Wesberry Papers

Coleman Daniel Clarke Papers

Scope and Contents

This collection contains correspondence and papers from the life of Coleman Clarke. There are also some correspondence, pamphlets, and photographs from his parents, W. Harvey and Lucile Daniel Clarke and their time as missionaries in Japan. The publications in this collection were collected by Clarke and cover topics related to his missionary work in Japan.

William Jones Carswell Papers

Mary Roberts Wilder Papers

The Mary R. Wilder papers consist of four general topics: her correspondence, her writings, newspaper articles about her, and a file with materials on her family and personal accomplishments. The collection also includes a number of oversized artifacts. The archives received these items in multiple accessions and arranged them accordingly; therefore, one may find similar items across multiple accessions.

John R. Claypool Papers

The John Claypool Papers were found in the Cecil Sherman Collection and separated. Box 1 contains clippings, articles, speeches, correspondence, and other various papers by Claypool; Box 2 contains mainly sermons and papers from Claypool’s years at Crescent Hill Baptist Church.

William Singleton Papers

Scope and Contents The collection contains a book that was given to William Singleton from Thomas Stocks. Singleton wrote that the book was given to him at Penfield in 1863, and a good third of the volume includes mathematical problems from 1864. Lists of Mercer matriculates from the administration of Pres. H. H. Tucker, dating from the Spring 1867 term through the Fall 1870 term, follow the mathematical problems.
