The Albert Henry Newman Collection contains correspondence to and from Newman, a prominent Baptist Church Historian, from 1926 to 1933; correspondence between Spencer B. King, Jr. and Frederick Eby (1956) pertaining to a biographical sketch of Newman for the Encyclopedia of Southern Baptists; Newman’s lecture notes on church history; and the book A Manual of Church History by T. J. Morgan (1880).

This collection contains materials related to the dedication of the Jack Tarver Library on Mercer University’s Macon campus, newspaper clippings either about or by Jack Tarver, photographs, a brief biography of Jack Tarver, and a small amount of correspondence sent to or by the Tarver family.

The collection contains Taylor’s research about Southern Baptist Missionary Thomas J. Bowen and his family, as well as Taylor’s own personal papers and writings.

The collection includes materials related to the running of the Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union of Georgia. These items include meeting minutes, photographs, audio-visual materials, scrapbooks, serial publications, promotional and event materials, and memorabilia. The collection is divided into 15 series, largely based on the type of materials and the contents. Some boxes are more processed than the rest. SERIES 1:CARTE DE VISITES
The Frank Arthur Hooper III Collection consists of 29 carte de visites, 16 cabinet cards, and one memory book. The items were donated by Marjorie F. Hooper, widow of Frank Arthur Hooper, III, who was the grandson of Frank Arthur Hooper of the Mercer University class of 1885. During his grandfather’s time at Mercer, he collected carte de visites of classmates and other students during that time. Most of the cabinet cards are unlabeled and are likely of family members.
