Biographical / Historical
Henry Warnock grew up in the Middle Georgia area and received an A.B. from Mercer University, a M.A. in journalism from the University of Georgia, a M.A. in history from Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. in history from Northwestern University. He returned to Mercer in 1947 and taught history until his retirement in 1986. During that time, he served as chair of the History Department and the Lamar Lecture Series. He was married to Patricia Hellmuth Warnock, and they had one son, Henry Delmar Warnock.
