Biographical / Historical

Alec F. Thompson was the pastor of white Southern Baptist churches in North Carolina and Georgia from 1944 to 2013. Some of these churches include National Avenue Baptist Church in New Bern, North Carolina; First Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia; and Clayton Baptist Church in Clayton, Georgia. He was also an interim pastor for some Middle Georgia churches as well, and was a supply pastor after moving to Forsyth, Georgia. He was a graduate of Brewton-Parker College, Mercer University, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Ernestine Prescott Thompson, had four children.
