Biographical / Historical
Mary Johnston Ray bequeathed 5,242.57 acres of land in both Bibb and Twiggs counties to Mercer University on December 28, 1979, in memory of her son, Joseph Hamilton Ray. The land was designated for the endowment at the Mercer University School of Medicine. The contents of this collection are part of the gift.
