University Library Classrooms

Mercer University Library classrooms in Macon and Atlanta may be used by members of the Mercer University community under the following guidelines:

General Policies:

  • Library classrooms are the primary instructional facilities at both locations. They are designed to be used by librarians to provide research instruction sessions and demonstrations; these instruction sessions have priority over all other use of the rooms.
  • Although the rooms may be reserved for other purposes, librarian-facilitated instruction sessions take precedence over all other bookings, regardless of when the request is made. While such occasions are rare, if a librarian-led session causes another reservation to be cancelled, the non-library requester will be notified immediately.
  • Mercer University faculty and staff may reserve classrooms for instructional purposes, at our discretion. Reservations generally do not exceed four hours and are not scheduled on a regular recurring basis.
  • The classrooms may be reserved and used by library employees for library-related business.
  • Please see the University Libraries Computing Equipment Usage Policy for equipment and usage guidelines.

Individual Use

When not in use for instruction or other purposes as described above, the classroom is available for individual student use on a first come, first served basis.

Please note that when the classrooms are open and not reserved for other purposes, doors must be left open and the rooms made accessible to others.

Reserving the Room

Faculty who wish to schedule their classes for library instruction should complete the online request form at least seven working days in advance of the anticipated visit. Requests made with less than seven working days' advance notice will be accommodated based on our availability.

To reserve the University Library Classrooms for other purposes, faculty and staff should contact Kim Eccles.
