Information for Off-Campus Researchers

  • For in-depth reference questions, please contact us by email, mail, or our Ask an Archivist form. We are unable to perform in-depth research during the course of a phone call.
  • A current fee schedule is available online.
  • Biographical searches may be requested for (1) Georgia Baptist ministers or (2) Mercer University students and faculty. It is unlikely that information will be available on other members of their families.
  • Researchers should be aware that there is no national, state, or county membership list of Baptists. Even church membership rolls or records of baptisms in church minutes rarely provide information on family relationships. Baptist church minutes rarely list individual members aside from pastors or other leaders.
  • Most of our church minutes are available on microfilm via interlibrary loan (ILL). We do not have enough staff to search or photocopy the minutes for you, so ILL or an in-person visit will provide the best results.
  • For tips on planning a visit to any archives, see Archives Basics.
  • If you are planning to visit us, please fill out our super easy appointment form.
