Scope and Contents

The Albert Henry Newman Collection contains correspondence to and from Newman, a prominent Baptist Church Historian, from 1926 to 1933; correspondence between Spencer B. King, Jr. and Frederick Eby (1956) pertaining to a biographical sketch of Newman for the Encyclopedia of Southern Baptists; Newman’s lecture notes on church history; and the book A Manual of Church History by T. J. Morgan (1880).

The First Baptist Church of Alpharetta Collection includes the church's audio-visual materials from the early 1990s to the early 2000s, including slides and photos from Vacation Bible Schools (VBS), youth events, AWANA, Upward events, and more.

The collection includes materials related to the running of the Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union of Georgia. These items include meeting minutes, photographs, audio-visual materials, scrapbooks, serial publications, promotional and event materials, and memorabilia. The collection is divided into 15 series, largely based on the type of materials and the contents. Some boxes are more processed than the rest. Box 1 contains correspondence, account papers, and Bursar records. Box 2 contains speeches, sermons, and other materials related to his work in the Baptist denomination. Box 3 contains copper plate lithographs used in the printing of The Story of Georgia Baptists.

The collection contains correspondence, memorabilia, notes, scrapbooks, photographs, publications, sermons, and other documents from Walker’s life and work. The majority are in good condition.

Every effort has been made to retain the original order of the papers. Titles were taken from Wesberry’s original folders. Sermons were arranged according to the numbering system used by Wesberry, and titles of folders are approximations assigned by processor.

Scope and Contents The Joseph M. Hendricks Collection consists of two accessions, one received from him in 2004 and the other received in 2025 from his wife and daughter. The 2004 accession is subdivided into files on people, committees, and subjects and is arranged within those subdivisions by alphabetical order. Scope and Contents The Louie D. Newton Papers consists of the personal papers of Louie Devotie Newton with materials dated 1879-1986. There are 29 boxes in total. The papers include correspondence, clippings, printed material, photographs, ephemera, audio visial materials, and a scrapbook (1939) of clippings pertaining to the Baptist World Alliance. Scope and Contents The Prosperity Free Will Baptist Church Records contain photocopies of the original records made by Sandra Stratford in the 1980s. The original records were in the possession of descendants of the last clerk of the church at that time, but at the time of donation (April 2025) Stratford did not remember the name of the owner or know if said owner was still living.
