Tift College--Roundtable Costumes Collection
Scope and Contents
The collection contains costumes, accessories, props, and related materials used in theatrical productions and ceremonies at Tift College from 1970 to 1987. The collection includes dresses, tunics, capes, belts, veils, sashes, and chair covers. Some items are signed by student participants. Materials are arranged by fabric type and quality. The collection documents costume use and ceremonial traditions at a women’s college in Georgia in the late twentieth century.

Biographical / Historical
The Roundtable at Tift College was a cherished tradition where graduating students came together to re-enact the legendary Arthurian legend. The tradition began in the 1910s and continued until the college was absorbed by Mercer University in 1987.
