Biographical / Historical

The Mercer Women’s Caucus was organized on March 4, 1998, “to explore what sort of women’s advocacy and oversight committee would best serve Mercer women faculty, administrators, and the University as a whole.” It consisted of members from all the schools of the university and tasked itself with promoting mutual understanding of the differential experiences of female and male faculty and staff; studying inequities in hiring, retention, advancement, and salary of female employees; providing a supportive campus climate for women; encouraging inclusiveness on campus; and fostering women’s leadership on campus through mentoring.
