Horatio Smith Correspondence, 1826-1829
Scope and Contents
The Kaderly collection was acquired through at least two deposits, one shortly after Kaderly’s death and the other in May 2000. Twelve manuscript letters are related to Robert Southey, John Foster, George Gilfillan, and Horatio Smith. In addition, there are copies of letters by Southey that were published or transcribed. Critical materials written on Southey, Smith, and Percy Bysshe Shelley are included, as well as two editions of Harry Stillwell Edwards’ Eneas Africanus, an 1825 issue of The Examiner of London, and some literary prints.
