Juneteenth is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/06\/18\/a-proclamation-on-juneteenth-day-of-observance-2021\/\">federal holiday<\/a> that celebrates the freedom of slaves in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865.
