Scope and Contents

The first set of scrapbooks is a Baptist's "Who's Who" with data on "leading clergymen and laymen in the Northern Baptist conference."

The second set covers missionaries in home and foreign fields, filed by country. For each missionary, there may be "a biography, along with books, pamphlets, lectures, or addresses he [or she] may have written or given, and a picture." A few volumes are also included on specific missionary efforts, including Christian Friendliness, Green Lake, and Christian Centers.

Biographical / Historical

Jessie Freemyre was born in Michigan on Sept. 4, 1876 to Allen and Ruth Ann (Dorsey) Freemyre (also spelled Freemyer). She married lawyer George Herbert Cross (1866-1964) on Sept. 2, 1903. She died in Muskegon, Michegan, on July 18, 1954.
