Scope and Contents
The Millie Myren collection contains predominantly two sets of material: 1) correspondence upon her appointment as Executive Minister of metro Chicago and 2) sermons. In addition to these two categories are a number of other items related to her spiritual life.

Biographical / Historical
Mildred "Millie" Hallett Myren (1936-Feb. 1, 2021). Myren was notable for being the first layperson appointed as Executive Minister of an American Baptist regional office, in 1994.
Predeceased by spouse Paul Arthur "Art" Myren (1934-2017). They were married in 1957. Ordained in 1998; served as Interim Minister at Morgan Park Baptist Church and Executive Minister for the American Baptist Churches of Metro Chicago.
