General
From the donor:
I think some would have continuing importance to Baptists. They would include: (1) my extensive correspondence with people not only in Baptist life but in many denominations and institutions; (2) papers of Douglas Steere, whose biography I wrote; (3) materials relevant to my involvement in Faith and Order of the World Council of Churches (15 years) and Faith and Order of the National Council of Churches (9 years); (4) materials related to ecumenical dialogue—Baptist/Catholic Conversations internationally (1984-1988); Southern Baptist/Catholic Conversations nationally (1977-1987); Baptist/Quaker Dialogues; Baptist/Episcopal Dialogues; Baptist/Orthodox Dialogues; Baptist/Jewish Dialogue; Baptist/Muslim Dialogue; and a few exchanges between students at Southern Seminary and in other theological schools; (5) miscellaneous information I collected on various historical subjects relevant to church history; (6) original manuscripts of my books, articles, and book reviews; (7) research notes in New Testament and Patristics; (8) collections of photographs and slides on historical subjects. In addition, there might be some interest in notebooks or class lectures that I put together for my classes on a variety of subjects. These would obviously be dated, but they would have Hinson insights that some teachers might find relevant. I also have copies of PhD or DMin dissertations that I supervised; the originals are in Southern Seminary’s or BTSR's library, of course.
