Biographical / Historical

Alvin D. Koons studied at Wichita State University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Columbia Pacific University and was ordained in 1955. He has management experience in banking, international business and church ministries within both small community and large urban churches.

Barbara was a missionary to Hong Kong for 6 years, administering a student tuition program and teaching English and Music. She also provided administrative duties for organizations such as the Chinese Community Church in San Mateo, California and the VA Medical Center in Martinez, California. She was an interim ministries specialist for the Presbyterian Church USA.

Appraisal

Acquired by Jan S Ballard, Archivist of American Baptist Historical Society in 2016, who made appraisal decisions. The Koons also sent seven volumes of An American Commentary on the New Testament, whihc was added to the ABHS Library.
