Biographical / Historical
Daniel G. Rider was born in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Gordon College in Boston and Andover Newton Theological Seminary. He held a DD from the University of Redlands.
Rider served churches on both the East and West coasts, some of which are represented in the collection, and worked with the Board of Education and Publication for ABC-USA, serving as Chairman of the Division of Publications.

Appraisal
Acquired by Jan Ballard, Archivist of the American Baptist Historical Society in 2013. Later appraisal decisions were made by JIll Sweetapple, Head of Archives and Special Collections, in 2019.
Processing Information
Arranged and described at the box level by Head of Archives and Special Collections Jill Sweetapple, October 2019. Donor Clarie Rider packed the collection before sending in 2013. Sweetapple retained much of the original order with the exceptions of removing two duplicate pamphlets. Sweetapple also refoldered all of the materials.
