Boise then taught 15 years at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. In 1877, from the Baptist Union Theological Seminary, Boise accepted the professorship of New Testament Interpretation, which he taught for 14 years. He later received degrees from the University of Tubingen in Germany, University of Michigan and STD from Brown University in 1879.
