Sidney V. and Clara B. Hollingworth

Sidney Hollingworth was born in Freeport, Pennsylania. He and first wife Sarah sailed to Burma in 1921. He served as asisstant superintendent of the Baptist Mission Press at Rangoon for several years. After retiring in 1935, Sidney worked for twenty-three years in the library at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Clara Hollingworth was born in Providence Rhode Island, she graduated from Rhode Island Normal School and taught second grade for three years before deciding to become a missionary. After graduating from Gordon College of Theology and Mission, she was ordained at the Cranston Street-Roger Williams Baptist Church in Providence. She served in Burma for one term, working among the Chin people. While on furlough in 1928, she married Sidney and they returned together to Burma in 1929. In 1934, they returned to the U.S. and settled in Granville, Ohio. Clara died in 1984 at age 88, and Sidney died in 1970.
