Scope and Contents

Negatives 4-184 to 4-202 were bundled together and appear to be in the United States. Negatives 4-203 to 4-239 were bundled together and appear to be in the United States. Negatives 4-254 to 4-276 were bundled together with the label "At Home." Negatives 4-277 to 4-287 were bundled together with the label "Abroad" and appear to be mostly scenes taken from onboard or from a ship. Negatives 4-288 to 4-296 were in a packet together with the label "Smith Family Pictures. Pictures taken in garden summer of 1923 - at 6208 Boynton St."

525 Files : Each negative is individually foldered.

Arrangement

Negative sets 1 and 2 were numbered (as "books") at some unknown point in time. Negative sets 3 and 4 were numbered during processing in 2022. Sets 1, 2, and 3 are part of the original Cope family donation from Appleton Danforth Cope. Set 4 contains all the negatives donated by William and Penelope Cutler.

General

Negatives 3-2 to 3-16 have the note "Dr. Cope's negatives. Contact prints made from these by R.G. Johnson in October 1984."
