John Ashmead travel papers, 1784-1785, 1799
Scope and Contents
Collection includes a travel diary covering Feb. 1748 through July 1785 and ship's papers from 1799. The diary appears to have been handmade from a variety of different papers. Most diary entries include notes about wind speed and the ship's course. The last few pages include a long list of what appear to be song titles, mathematical equations, and sums. The papers from 1799 appear to be documents approving John Ashmead's ship to leave port.
