Digitized Materials, 1932 - 1950

The Cynthia Kawanami Copeland Collection consists primarily of digitized photographs, printed materials, and personal correspondence belonging to Copeland's parents, Tokiko "Tish" Ishihara and Kiyoshi Kawanami, dating between the mid-1930s and 1950. Items include prewar photographs and documents of the Ishihara family, postwar photographs and correspondence, and a scrapbook kept by Kiyoshi Kawanami that documents his incarceration at Poston. The Collection also includes the original Kawanami scrapbook, which is in poor physical condition.
