Scope and Contents

He was a campus minister, director of campus work for the DC Baptist Convention, pastor, interim pastor, supply preacher, organist, Executive Director of the D.C. Convention Foundation, interim Regional Minister of the OC Baptist Convention, etc. He was primarily responsible tor establishing a Baptist studies program at Wesley Theological Seminary, which is affiliated with American University. Smith was for a time a fellow church member, interim pastor, and a friend to Robert Hudson. His wife Margaret was also a campus minister, and his father-in-law Dr. Eric Rust was a prominent professor at Southern Seminary.
