Pardon Our Progress 2.0 (Tarver)

last modified 2018-02-01T14:36:29-05:00 expired

In anticipation of the 2nd floor renovations taking place the week of March 5, Tarver Library employees will be busy preparing the space. The prep work will involve moving the remaining collections, dismantling and removing shelving, uninstalling the main floor thin clients, and relocating an extensive inventory of furnishings. Once new furnishings are in place, Tarver Library employees will move specific collections back to the 2nd floor and reinstall the thin clients.

These efforts will take place over the next 6-8 weeks.

Beginning February 27, only the thin clients in the Chappell Classroom will be available when library instruction is not taking place. There are 18 thin clients in this space. Please consider bringing a laptop to the library for computer work. In addition, Research Services will be relocated to the librarians' offices located on the 2nd floor. Research help also is available by phone at (478) 301-2055 or email. Printers will be moved closer to the Chappell Classroom and available during this time.

If quieter spaces are needed, please consider the following:

  • computer lab (Chappell Classroom/2nd floor)
  • study rooms (all floors)
  • 24-hour study areas (Einstein's/1st floor)
  • Quiet Zone (3rd floor)

Ear plugs also will be available at the Circulation Desk on 2nd floor.

The Library recognizes that this is occurring during mid-terms and apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions, please contact Beth Hammond, Dean of the University Library.
