Special Collections has a fee schedule for research services provided by our staff.
Mercer University maintains a library and archives of primary and secondary research materials related to the university and the Baptist community. (Subjects of Holdings - Formats of Holdings) The facility is open to the public and serves as a resource to researchers throughout the United States and beyond. The collection is located on the third floor of Mercer University's Tarver Library on the Macon campus. (Driving Directions)
All materials are housed in closed stacks, and it is recommended that contact be made with the archives prior to visiting the facility. This will allow us to retrieve appropriate materials and set up a study area for your use. Holdings of books and periodicals in the collection can be searched through the library catalog. Holdings of university records, personal papers, and Baptist church, association, and convention minutes may be reviewed from the archives' webpage. Indexes to church and associational records, etc.

On Wednesdays, evenings, and weekends, researchers may leave voice mail messages at (478) 301-2968 or fill out a Research Request Form located at the entrance of Special Collections. The staff of Special Collections will attempt to make contact on the following work day.
Priority is given to patrons who come into the library, university faculty and administrators, and those working on theses, dissertations, and Georgia Baptist church histories.
Information for Off-Campus Biographical Researchers
Interlibrary Loan:
Microfilm records of Georgia Baptist churches and associations in the collection are available for use in a local library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
