Innovations for Preview

by Christian S. Pham last modified Feb 16, 2016 11:34 AM

We're often working on new innovations to improve your experience of your libraries. The Beta resources and services that you find here are (often) accessible to you for preview and we hope that you will take the time to provide us with your feedback.

Maps in the Online Catalog - Now Live!

When you find a book in the library catalog and you want to go and get it from the shelf, you use a Call Number (e.g. PS3619 .H3365 G84 2008) to find it. It's not entirely the easiest task to accomplish that, so we've developed a series of maps that will highlight (in most cases) the actual shelf on which the item normally lives. Most of our collections (e.g. books, CDs, DVDs, reference books, etc.) will be included at that level of detail. For some items, like Government Documents and journals, the map will provide more general location information (the area of the library rather than the specific shelf) but it will at least get you to the right neck of the woods. Simply look for the link ('See Map') for the item.

We launched the maps in the catalog in mid-February 2012. A link to a comment form is available at the bottom of each map, so please let us know if you come across an inaccuracy, have a suggestion, or just want to tell us what you think. We'd love to know!
