Title: Roman Strigil

Description: As part of the Greco-Roman culture, prior to exercising or competitions, athletes lubricated their bodies with olive oil to reduce skin injuries and help keep the pores of the skin free from dirt. Afterwards, the athletes used a strigil to scrape the film of oil and dirt off their bodies.
